Traditional screw-locking systems are simple and with the red warning strip, it's easy to see if your Ovalo is secure against unintended opening. From hanging your pack outside a PMV, to connecting toggle ropes to doing a pull on a suspected IED, a rated caribiner is a must have. The Austri-Alpin Ovalo is the best general usage caribiner going. It's oval shape finds the optimal position every time and makes it almost impossible to get cross-weighted. The Screw Lock gives you a simple manual locking system and the rounded profile ensures a fluid rope management.
